An oval dish carries a painted landscape of hills, red flowers and palm leaves. Each colour is brushed on by hand and fired into the glaze.
Sasha Grigoryan paints the glaze directly on the clay, so no two dishes match.
Exclusive Sasha works in stoneware and porcelain, building each plate and bowl by hand before the first glaze test. Her relief pieces grow out of the steppe flowers and birds she grew up around in Kazakhstan. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in Almaty, Bishkek and Tbilisi and is held in several private collections in Europe.

A solo exhibition by Adam Schwartz. His large painted dishes and bowls show figures that float, climb and tangle in half-remembered landscapes.
Watch the potters at work in the Almaty studio and see new pieces up close.
