Robin makes carved and glazed relief tiles, and hand-painted panels in black and white. Her work looks at pattern and repetition, often starting from textiles, flowers or the sea. Born in Glasgow, she moved to Almaty in 2016 and runs a small ceramics studio with her partner.
Each of Robin's tiles is carved and glazed by hand, and each run is numbered on the back. She uses black and white glazes on stoneware, and her 2024 show Thirty Lines at Focus Gallery brought together a selection of her relief tiles and panels.
A group exhibition of ceramics at Focus Gallery in Almaty. The opening night is on 6 November at 18:00, and everyone is welcome to attend.
